Makeup Policy

At times, music students may find it necessary to makeup for lost participation points during the course of the school year.  In such cases, points may be redeemed in one of the following ways:

  • Most students may log on to sightreadingfactory.com, using the login information provided here, and complete one makeup assignment with the login for the class in which they wish to make up points.  Each completed assignment may result in up to one makeup point, depending on the quality of the recording submitted. Also, students should note that if they are making up multiple points in a quarter, they'll need to increase the SR level for each additional point made up after one. And, please make sure to state your name in the recording so we know who to give credit to.

  • 6th Grade Choir Only students may log on to sightreadingfactory.com, using their personal login information from class, and submit one uncompleted level. Each level, submitted outside of class time, may result in up to one makeup point, depending on the quality of the recording submitted.

  • 6th Grade Band students must pass off benchmark Band Buck assignments. These assignments can be passed off online through Google Classroom or in person during Eagles Nest or after school. Each assignment passed off can result in one makeup point.

  • In situations where absences and missed rehearsals may have affected grades, students may submit a video or audio recording of a concert song on Google Classroom to show that they are prepared and have made up any rehearsal time that they may have missed.

  • Students may also write a three-page research paper on the classical composer of their choice in order to redeem up to three points.  Reports must be double-spaced and typed in 12-point, Times New Roman font.  Written reports must also contain an additional bibliography page, citing at least two sources.  Again, the number of points redeemed depends on the quality of work submitted.
